The Parkes to Narromine Inland Rail Supply Chain Mapping pilot study conducted by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in 2018 looked at supply chains along the Parkes to Narromine rail corridor in New South Wales.

Results announced in 2019 found an average saving of $76 per tonne for producers when shifting specific agricultural supply chains from road to Inland Rail.
