Maximising Supply Chains with Inland Rail

Monday 22nd July
Workshops with local councils, farmers and industry along the Inland Rail alignment between Narromine to Seymour are underway, to collect data and local input as part of the first phase of a CSIRO supply chain mapping study.

The work builds on the pilot study delivered by CSIRO earlier this year, to map supply chain movements in and around Parkes to Narromine and model the potential cost savings available with Inland Rail. We are now working with CSIRO to expand the application of the TraNSIT tool to model and explore supply chain efficiencies for a large majority of the Inland Rail corridor.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Minister McCormack strongly supports Inland Rail and announced the start of the study at the Bulk Freight Futures Symposium in Junee 11 July 2019.
