Trans4m Rail appointed to construct Inland Rail between Narrabri and North Star

Friday 20 November 2020

Construction work is closer to commencing on Inland Rail in North-West NSW with the announcement of Trans4m Rail as the constructor for the Narrabri and North Star (N2NS) section.

Following the completion of the Parkes to Narromine section in September 2020, N2NS will be the second section of Inland Rail to begin construction. Work is expected to commence on this section in late 2020.

The N2NS section of Inland Rail has been divided into two phases. The first phase is covered by this $693 million contract and will see 171km of track upgraded along the existing rail corridor by Trans4m Rail – a joint-venture between John Holland and SEE Civil – supporting more than 500 jobs.

Further design work is progressing on phase two with the development of an Environmental Impact Statement for the upgrade of 15km of track crossing the Mehi-Gwydir floodplain and the construction of new track at Camurra, north of Moree.
