Port of Gladstone business case

The Australian Government has accepted the findings of Dr Schott AO report, in full or in principle - The Delivery of Inland Rail: An Independent Review. Copies of the report and the Government's response are available. Information on this website is currently under review.

The Australian Government will provide up to $10 million to investigate the viability of extending Inland Rail from Toowoomba to the Port of Gladstone.

This connection could create new and significant opportunities for the freight industry and people and businesses in regional Queensland and beyond.

Funding for the business case was announced in September 2021.
