For Business

Australian industries are essential partners in the design and delivery of Inland Rail. Our freight transport network moves fresh food, produce, furniture and fibre right across our vast nation.

Inland Rail will generate jobs, provide procurement opportunities for local businesses and suppliers during construction and be a catalyst for private sector investment into the future.

There are many ways industry groups and businesses can get involved to identify investment opportunities and realise the benefits of Inland Rail.

Businesses can:

  • supply materials and services to support construction
  • bid as a sub-contractor in large construction and supplier packages
  • expand and optimise their supply chain as each section of Inland Rail track comes on line.

Inland Rail will unlock efficiencies in existing supply chains and open up new market opportunities, which is why we are speaking to freight and supply chain operators, producers, manufacturers and peak bodies every step of the way.

Every supply chain is unique and the transport cost savings and efficiencies gained by industry sectors and business will be different.

State and local Government

The Australian Government’s strategic investment in Inland Rail recognises and supports the role of regional centres in providing employment and growing the national economy.

The Department is working closely with state and local governments as they gear up to make the most of the project for their communities.
