Moree
The Moree office caters to communities along the Inland Rail alignment from Parkes in New South Wales to the Queensland border.
As the Regional Liaison Officer based in Moree, and like my counterparts in the other regions, my vehicle is my mobile office. I am privileged to be able to meet with locals, business operators, primary producers, community members, government and regional organisations, to discuss their aspirations for the region and how Inland Rail can support those goals.
Inland Rail will traverse the rich agricultural plains of our region, in the north-west of New South Wales and I am delighted that my role entails:
- promoting the strategic value of Inland Rail to regions and communities
- building stakeholder understanding of Inland Rail
- assisting communities to understand Inland Rail's potential benefits, and
- working with regions to maximise the economic and social opportunities of the project.
I believe that the construction and operation of Inland Rail can really support my region by moving freight more efficiently and safely to growing markets domestically and overseas, and by revitalising regional communities and towns through economic development, employment, diversification and the attraction of complementary services and industry.
