The Albury-Wodonga office covers communities from Tottenham in Victoria to Stockinbingal in New South Wales.
As the Regional Liaison Officer based in Albury-Wodonga, I cover the area from Tottenham in Victoria through to Stockinbingal in New South Wales. Like my counterparts in the other regions, my vehicle is the place I spend most of my time; it is my mobile office, almost my home away from home.
I have found that there is not a typical day for me. One day I may be in a suit and tie in a boardroom in Melbourne, the next I may be on the side of the road in boots and jeans talking to a farmer near Junee; in a coffee shop talking to a local government representative in Wodonga; or in a meeting room talking to a local business chamber in Wagga Wagga.
One of the great privileges of this job is to be able to talk to local people about their businesses. Hearing about where they have been, what their business is like today and what their plans are for the future. Also to talk about how Inland Rail may be a part of that future.
My travels take me from sky scrapers to wheat fields and from freeways to dirt roads, with a great diversity of industries and opportunities. These opportunities exist both during construction and during the operation of the Inland Rail, for everyone from multinationals through to sole traders. I have the privilege to explore these opportunities with business people on a daily basis. Added to this are the employment opportunities both during and post construction.
So if you would like to explore what opportunities Inland Rail could provide for you or your business, contact your local Regional Liaison Officer.
